Well, apparently I suckkkk at blogging. I can't even remember how long it has been since I have updated this. A couple of bigs that have happened in our life:
1. HB got a new job at Bayer Crop Science. He works with cotton in Idalou, TX now! It is AWESOME because he doesn't work weekends and he gets home at 5:00 :)
2. I started student teaching & LOVEEEEE it. My students are so awesome! I finished my first week of full responsibility last week and it went really well.
We have become avid Shallowater Mustang fans - they are 3-1 so far :) We have visited Temple for David's homecoming & we had our first visitors last weekend!
I got a brand new beautiful camera :) In fact, I have two photoshoots tomorrow! I updated pictures on my photoblog from last week - www.lrmphotography.squarespace.com
I'll put up some pictures soon!
Much love,

Our Newest Addition to the House
I have been telling HB since we moved that he should get a grill. Growing up, my house was always full of people - & I would have to say that a lot of that has to do with my parents ability to cook and have fun. My dad is a grilling machine - so I have pretty high expectations for HB (bless his heart). I like my steak between medium rare and medium. If you ask me a steak is absolutely ruined if it is well done - sorry if you like your steak well done. I am really horrible about letting my opinions take me off on bunny trails.
We went shopping for a grill on Sunday - I was still in full theatre make up and some lady at Home Depot let me know that I looked silly. HB was like a kid in a candy store. He was pretty sure that he already had his mind made up - but he worries over things like this - so we sat and analyzed the grill for a while before the decision was made. By the way, I am pretty certain I could build a pretty sweet house if someone let me raid the local home depot. I could probably live in a home depot... well I don't think they have any beds, so maybe not.
We didn't get to take the beautiful grill home right away, because they had to put it all together for us. So, HB picked it up on Monday and brought it home :) It looks gorgeous in our backyard doesn't it? We made steaks on it yesterday - yummmmyy. HB started marinating them at 7 in Italian dressing. We let them marinate in the fridge for about 8 hours and added salt, pepper, and some tenderizer and then grilled them - AH delicious! :)

HB burned off some of his arm hair in the process of heating up the grill. His arm was rank, but he was okay.
We are going to take a shot at smoking ribs on Saturday - we have some kind of reggae rib recipe that we are going to use. It calls for cinnamon and rum, so it has to be good. :) Anyone is welcome to join us up here in Shallytown haha!

Beauty & the Beast
HB & I have had a very eventful week! He, of course, worked all week :) & I finished my last core classes, practiced for the play, babysat, cleaned, cooked, and got ready for my family to get here. My dad wasn't able to come to Shallytown to move us in because he had to work, so I was REALLY excited that he got to come this week for a little while!
I have really impressed myself and HB with my cooking skills. So far everything I have made has turned out pretty good (knock on wood!). HB will get to put his skills to the test whenever we get our NEW GRILL tomorrow! :) I am soooo excited! It is super great and I cannot wait to start grilling! The weather up here is perfect for grilling... so I think we will be cooking out alot.
I totally just went down a bunny trail with the cooking news, so back to my parents being in town! My parents came into town on Wednesday and I made dinner and desert for them. It was my first time to use my KitchenAid mixer :) fun fun. Mom and Dad got here around 6:30 and I had play practice at 7:00, so we tried to get everything ready and eat quickly, but we ended up being a little late to practice (not a big surprise to anyone).
Our first performance of Beauty and the Beast was on Thursday & it went really really well! It is really fun to get to do something like that post high school. It was fun to be on stage singing, dancing, and acting. Stephanie is REALLY talented, so it was definitely fun to work with her. HB was even surprised with our skills - & he is hard to impress.
On Saturday night, HB and I went to a reverse auction for the Women's Protective Services in Lubbock. Hurst Farm Supply donated all of the equipment for the auction. We didn't take a picture - but I think we both dressed up a little too much for the auction. We were thinking somewhere between sunday dress and cocktail dress would work, but apparently jeans and a t-shirt would have too. So, that was interesting. We only stayed for about an hour because our number didn't make it through the first drawing. :( We were 1709. 1707, 1708, & 0719 were all called, but we weren't. Oh well, it happens.
I met HB's bosses and we enjoyed really great barbque, so I would say that it was a successful night even if we didn't win a golf cart.
Today was a lazy Sunday - We woke up late (yes, I know shame on us for not going to church), cooked brunch, and headed to my last performance. Once it was over we went into town! We were planning on heading to Home Depot, but somehow got side tracked. We ended up buying coffee at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and eating fried pickles & wings at Hooters (yummmmy). Then after the short detour we headed to Home Depot and bought a brand new grill! I am sooo excited! We pick it up tomorrow and I will definitely be posting pictures!
HB has to be up early and I am going up to the school to help out my mentor teacher tomorrow, so I'll post some pictures and call it a night! We love and miss everyone!

BUSY BUSY
Hello Hello! We finally got most of our decorations up this week and I have more pictures!
Captions: The first picture is of our bedroom - the painting on the wall is one that I bought from Italy and FINALLY had stretched. The second one is of the living room wall - my grumpy painted the painting in the middle :) The third one is of a painting that I made that was in my room in CS and is now hanging in our living room/dining room/kitchen area. The bottom pictures is a close-up of Grumpy's painting! Isn't it beautiful?

I spent all last week working at the Shallowater Theatre Camp. I took pictures to make some extra money! The kids performed twice this weekend and they did SO good! They only had a week to prepare the whole play together and they really pulled it off nicely. We were all a little bit nervous, but they really surpised us - I think HB was even impressed.
I'm not sure if I said this on the last post, but they performed "Treasure Island". Preslee was Black Dog and Reagan was Captain Smollet! :) Here are some videos of them rocking it on stage:
& of course they took some time at the end to take a picture with me (just for the record, I asked HB to get into the picture).
HB sends his love again - he has been a busy man! Hopefully we can update sometime this week with wedding photos! :) God Bless everyone!
Much love,

Welcome to Our Humble Abode
HB and I moved to Shallowater, a.k.a Shallytown, Texas, and we have now lived in our oh so lovely house for a week and two days. We are loving Shallytown so far. It is the home of a Fast Stop, a Dollar General, a barber shop, and schools. Yes, that is it. Lucky for us, Lubbock is only a whole seven minutes away. We are close to a Target and a Walmart and other fun things like that.
We are meeting a lot of nice people through my aunt and uncle. In fact, we have already drank a beer with our banker and we all know it is good to be friends with your banker. HB is really liking his job minus the whole getting up at 5:30 part. We have both cooked and I somehow managed to finish our massive amount of laundry on Wednesday. HB has more clothes than any girl I have ever known.

Besides getting the house ready, I have joined a group of very talented local actors and actresses in the production of Beauty and the Beast. I am Silly Girl #3 and Plate #4. Both are very important parts. I am pretty certain we will win some sort of "Best Local Musical" Oscar for our performances. Videos will be up after the production....
HB sends his love. He is already off to bed at 9:30... working men have to get their sleep. The collage I made will not cooperate with this blog, so you will have to go to my photoblog: http://www.lrmphotography.squarespace.com/ to look at our house pictures. We will put more pictures up once we have more decorations up! The living room is not finished yet; and, most of our frames are either empty or holding pictures of creepy generic families/couples. So, more to come later! Hope you enjoy!!!!!
MUCH LOVE,
The Maceys
